The Opening Regional Results

Oklahoma State is recruiting some of the top performers from Nike's The Opening Regional this past weekend at Coppell High School.

The testing results for last Sunday's Nike The Opening Regional at Coppell High School outside Dallas are now in and while the complete results will be available I wanted to put up some of the results that might be most interesting to Oklahoma State fans.

We knew the top tester was Lewisville wide receiver Tyrell Shavers. An early offer by Oklahoma State and several other schools, Shavers measured 6-6 and 202 pounds and ran a blazing 4.38 electronically timed 40-yard dash. He was incredibly athletic in all four of the tests conducted at The Opening Regionals. Since Sunday, Shavers has seen his offer list increase as schools like Georgia, Texas A&M, and Clemson jumped in with the early offers like Oklahoma State.

Now even more interesting to Cowboy fans would be that the two early Oklahoma State commits that were at the event both finished in the top 11 of all the prospects at the combine that tested.

Forney linebacker Brendan Vaughn was second to Shavers and featured a 4.52 in the forty, a 4.17 in the 5-10-5 shuttle, and a 36.7-inch vertical jump. We had Vaughn at 6-1, 213 pounds and he weighed in a little lighter than that at 207 pounds. He is a very talented athlete.

Ty Thomas, the first commitment to the Cowboys, is out of Lubbock Cooper High School. He measured 5-11, 192 pounds just as listed and had a 4.72 in the forty with a 4.31 5-10-5 shuttle, and an impressive 36.-inch vertical jump.

Below we list the top testers that are OSU offers and commitments and one 2018 prospect that is the younger brother of a current Cowboy.
