Brandon Averette Commits To Cowboys

Brandon Averette, a 5-11 guard who averaged 22.6 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds at Richardson (Texas) High School, will be the first player to sign to play for new Oklahoma State head coach Brad Underwood.

Brandon Averette was looking forward to playing at Stephen F. Austin for head coach Brad Underwood. But that changed Tuesday night when he announced on Twitter that he would be following Underwood to Oklahoma State.

A 5-11, 185-pound guard from Richardson, Texas who was the Dallas Metroplex's leading scorer as a senior, Averette could sign with the Cowboys as early as today (the first day of the signing period for basketball). Averette averaged 22.6 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds in earning District 10-6A MVP honors in leading Richardson to a 27-7 record this past season.

He becomes the first player to commit to Oklahoma State since Underwood was named head coach last month.
