Pistols Firing From Georgia Is For Ethan Suda

Preferred walk-on Ethan Suda will join others as candidates to succeed Cowboys kicker Ben Grogan after the 2016 season.

Oklahoma State graduate assistant/special teams coach Steve Hauser tweeted this morning a "Pistols Firing from Georgia." I checked and there was nothing from head coach Mike Gundy or any other staff member so I decided it had to be a kicker or punter.

The answer is Ethan Suda, who is a punter and kicker from Alpharetta (Milton), Georgia. He is pretty well decorated too earning second-team All-State honors in Georgia and All-Region accolades.

Suda is 6-0, 175 pounds and he will be a preferred walk-on in the upcoming freshman class, so he joins in with Matt Ammendola and Matt Hockett as candidates to succeed Ben Grogan, who is going into his senior season as the Cowboys kicker. He can also back up punter Zach Sinor and join in the competition that Gundy is hoping will propel one of the kickers into the kickoff role and give the Cowboys a booming kickoff game that will yield some touchbacks.

As for Suda's performance, as a senior he was good on 21-of-22 PATs, 25-of-35 on field goals with a long of 49 yards. He also averaged 41.85 yards on punts with an average hang time of 4.07 seconds. On kickoffs, he had 29 touchbacks on 40 kickoffs.

Suda lists Oklahoma State as his college destination on his Twitter account and is expected to arrive in Stillwater before the start of fall camp.
