Cowboys Get Commitment From 7-Footer

Lucas N'Guessan, a 7-footer from the Netherlands, announced that he will be joining the Oklahoma State basketball program.

Brad Underwood knows exactly what the Oklahoma State basketball program is missing – a post presence. The new Oklahoma State head basketball coach has been searching to add a big man to the recruiting class since he was hired two months ago, and he apparently found one in the Netherlands.

The Cowboys received a commitment Wednesday from 7-footer Lucas N'Guessan, who plays for Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain.

N'Guessan announced his commitment Wednesday via his team Twitter account: "I’m very thankful to Rob Orellana and to all CBA’s coaches for helping me during my three years at the Academy. Here I trained daily with the ex NBA Champion and ex Euroleague player Richard Petruska for countless hours and that really helped me in my development. Now, I want to enjoy this opportunity at Oklahoma State and work as hard as I can for Coach Underwood and his staff."

A member of Netherlands U18 team, N'Guessan averaged 3.9 points and 5.1 rebounds while competing in the European Championships in 2015.

The 18-year-old N'Guessan will be eligible for the 2016-17 season.
