One of the top prospects in the state of Oklahoma is set to announce his college commitment on Saturday. Tulsa Memorial defensive end Isaiah Thomas confirmed to Go Pokes that he will make his college decision known sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with a message on his Twitter account.
Thomas is a 6-5, 230-pound athletic defensive end prospect who also is a really gifted basketball player. In fact, last season Thomas averaged 5.3 points and 6.4 rebounds a game starting for the Chargers on the hardwood. In football, he was a sack threat every game and also had the ability to outrun everybody on the field in scoring a defensive touchdown at Bishop Kelley.
The speculation is that Thomas will be choosing between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He made unofficial visits to both schools and on April 26 named the Sooners as his leader at the time. He also made an unofficial visit to Missouri. He also has scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and just the other day an offer from South Carolina.
We have to rate OU as the favorite but we know that OSU defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements and head coach Mike Gundy were very serious in their recruiting process with Thomas
