After the long Memorial Day holiday weekend the Oklahoma State football staff will be back at it on Tuesday. There will be meetings as the coaches are off the road from evaluations, and the team camps begin on Wednesday. There are several major team camps in Oklahoma. Both the University of Tulsa and NEO A&M Junior College have team camps on their campus this week or early next week. Of course, those will be run by those two schools staffs and are not open.
However, Mustang High School and Putnam City High School are hosting team camps on Wednesday with Mustang hosting the likes of Southmoore (with standouts like Gervarrius Owens, Casey Thompson and Brey Walker), Edmond Santa Fe, Westmoore, Bishop McGuinness (Rubell Goe and Owen Condon), Shawnee (Creed Humphrey and Tyree York), Bixby (Brendon Evers and Bryce Bray), and Midwest City (Evan Fields) among other schools.
It is expected that Oklahoma State, as well as Oklahoma and maybe other schools, will have coaches at the Mustang camp.
There is no rest as Oklahoma State along with host Mary Hardin-Baylor will be joined by Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Oregon State, Arizona State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Northwestern, Tulane, Yale, Stephen F. Austin, Boise State, and Colorado State on a three-day, five-stop Texas camp tour. There are already over 500 campers signed up for the Houston stop on Friday.
The stops include Belton and the MHB campus on Thursday, San Antonio and Houston on Friday, and Tyler and Dallas on Saturday.
Oklahoma State currently has 10 commitments (check our commitment and target lists) and it is common for the Cowboys to pick up another four to six commitments off the camp period which will continue the next week with camps on the Oklahoma State campus including a mini-camp on Sunday, June 12.
