The first day of the Mustang High School Team Camp and it would have been nice if Shawnee High School had shown up. The Wolves had some injuries and decided not to attend as planned but it would have been fun to see Oklahoma State commitment and Bixby standout defensive tackle Brendon Evers go against Shawnee's Creed Humphrey.
Evers was the class of the defensive linemen at the camp although he said he found some good competition.
"There is some really good competition here, Division I players, and I like hitting somebody other than my teammates," Evers said after the Spartans were through with day one of the three-day camp.
Now a concern for Oklahoma State, and one that several Go Pokes subscribers had hinted at was Evers, when asked, said he wasn't through with recruiting, and that he is at a place where it is comfortable. He also hinted he might attend some other camps this summer.
The 6-2, 290-pound Evers is an active defensive tackle with 72 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks all last season. Oklahoma State will not want to see him having wandering eyes over the summer or the fall.
