A Little Extra Makes The Difference For Misko

Spencer Misko made the trip to Stillwater from Keller, Texas on Sunday to attend the Oklahoma State one-day mini-camp, and earned himself a scholarship in the process. The 6-5, 230-pound standout verbally committed to the Cowboys.

Last week we introduced you to Spencer Misko, interviewing the Keller, Texas defensive end after the final satellite camp stop on the Mary Hardin-Baylor tour at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas. We showed you Misko in drills and you heard him talking about a few offers and how he was hoping it would grow.

It did this week as Misko had an offer from Kansas State. Then following the recommendation of the Oklahoma State coaches, Misko and his mother were in Stillwater on Sunday for the Oklahoma State mini-camp and had a chance to see the campus and facilities and then work out and show his abilities on the other side of the ball on offense as a tight end.

It worked so well that on his way home Misko got an offer from the Cowboys, and he wasted no time in accepting.

He kind of hinted in his conversation with GoPokes.com which you can see that he was leaning heavily that way. He even goes so far as to say this school was the one he was waiting for and that he was always a fan.

Misko, at 6-5, 230 pounds, gives the Cowboys options because he can play on either side of the football and moves the tight end/Cowboy back position up with another future scholarship addition, although the walk-ons at that position have worked out tremendously.

Check the smile on Misko's face. It was big and the smile on his mom's face was just as big, if not bigger.
