Oklahoma State head coach Brad Underwood picked up his first recruit for the 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday when three-star prospect Zack Dawson posted on his Twitter account (@ZackD035) that he was committing to OSU.
First of all I would like to thank God for blessing me and giving me this opportunity and I would also like to thank all of the schools that have recruited me. I have thought about everything with my dad and today I have made the decision to continue my education and athletic career by committing to Oklahoma State University. I feel that this is the best situation for me and my family. #GoCowboys
The 6-4 point guard from Southwest Miami High School in Miami, Fla., reportedly had offers from Arizona, Louisville, Kansas State, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, Florida Gulf Coast and Florida International.
Dawson committed to Oklahoma State a day after making an unofficial visit.
Dawson described his game for Scout.com's Josh Gershon earlier this month this way, "I specialize in pick and roll," Dawson said. "I can get to the basket, shoot it, finish, get guys involved; just try to make the right play at the end of the day.
"I want to keep getting better at defense, shooting pull-ups and really, everything, because you can't be too good at anything."
