Cowboys Add 6-9 Power Forward Tyrek Coger

Junior college power forward Tyrek Coger made a visit to Oklahoma State this weekend and didn't waste any time in committing first-year head coach Brad Underwood and the Cowboys.

Although he was originally scheduled to attend Ole Miss, Tyrek Coger made a visit to Oklahoma State this weekend after those plans fell through. Now, the 6-9, 240-pound junior college power forward says he is joining the OSU basketball program.

Coger let his intentions be known via Twitter: "Want to say thanks to every school who has recruited me in such late notice but I would like to announce that I will be with @OSUAthletics."

Coger is expected to arrive at Oklahoma State in July, and will be eligible for the 2016-17 season.

Coger averaged 12 points and eight rebounds last season at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina.

He was planning to attend Ole Miss but re-opened his recruitment after failing to meet SEC transfer standards. Coger also was scheduled to visit Kansas State, Rutgers and Charlotte.
