Two very different but very talented receivers, both competing well at the Texas State 7-on-7 Championships in College Station last weekend, are both offering up a top five in the recruiting process that including Oklahoma State.
CeeDee Lamb (pictured above) is a big 6-2 1/2, 175-pound target out of Richmond Foster High School and KD Nixon is a speedy 5-8, 180-pound receiver from DeSoto High School, a familiar location for Cowboy recruiters.
Lamb listed Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M (many feel the Aggies are the favorite), Tennessee, and Florida as his top five schools. He still has a summer stop in College Station coming up for a "recruiting barbecue" and also will supposedly make an unofficial visit to Ole Miss. Lamb had 57 receptions for 1,082 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and he is shooting for over 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.
Nixon was committed to Tennessee earlier this year and then early this summer de-committed from the Vols and opened his recruitment back up. He listed his top five at the Texas State 7-on-7 Tournament as Oklahoma State (listed first), SMU, TCU, Baylor, and Oregon. Now he also said that Tennessee, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Illinois were hanging around.
Nixon has 84 receptions and 1,191 yards and 12 touchdowns in his prep career so far. He is also a threat in the backfield and a major threat on punt and kickoff returns.
No word on when either will make a commitment or in Nixon's case a second commitment.
