OSU To Face Connecticut In Maui

Oklahoma State will face Connecticut in a first-round game of the 2016 Maui Jim Maui Invitational.

Oklahoma State is making its second appearance in the Maui Invitational, and it won't be easy for first-year head coach Brad Underwood's Cowboys. OSU will face Connecticut in a first-round game on Nov. 21 of the 2016 Maui Jim Maui Invitational.

The Cowboys were 12-20 last season, and will face the Huskies, who are coming off a 25-11 season that included a win over Colorado in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The game will tip off at 8 p.m. Central (4 p.m. HT) on Nov. 21 at the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii. ESPNU and the Cowboy Radio Network will broadcast the contest.

This will be just the second meeting between the Cowboys and Huskies, and the first since 1970. OSU won the only other matchup, 80-64, in Lafayette, La., on Dec. 18, 1970.

OSU will face either North Carolina or host Chaminade in the second round. The tournament also includes Georgetown, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

This will be OSU’s second trip to the Maui Invitational. The Cowboys went 1-2 with a win over LSU in the 2007 Maui Invite.
