GoPokes TV: Mike Holder Addresses Media

Mike Holder addresses the media following the death on Thursday of Oklahoma State basketball player Tyrek Coger.

Mike Holder says he will be seeking the answers to some questions following the death on Thursday of Oklahoma State basketball player Tyrek Coger, who collapsed following a team workout inside Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Oklahoma State athletic director and head basketball coach Brad Underwood addressed the media for the first time publicly Friday morning following the death of the 21-year-old Coger, a transfer from Cape Fear Community College in North Carolina who had only been on campus since July 5.

Coger and his teammates were involved in a 40-minute workout while running stadium steps inside Boone Pickens Stadium. He collapsed and was taken by ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:23 p.m. Thursday.

“I’ve got a lot of questions about this,” Holder said. “How could it happen to us on our campus?”
