Oklahoma State head basketball coach Brad Underwood said today it’s “the hardest couple of days I’ve experienced in my coaching life,” when addressing the media concerning the death of Cowboys player Tyrek Coger.
Coger, 21, collapsed following a team workout inside Boone Pickens Stadium Thursday afternoon and was transported to Stillwater Medical Center by ambulance. He was pronounced dead at 6:23 p.m.
Underwood, who was named the Cowboys head coach in March, and OSU athletic director Mike Holder addressed the media on Friday morning.
Underwood, who was in Las Vegas on a recruiting trip when called Thursday with the news of Coger's death, answered the question about what it was like when meeting with his team after returning to Stillwater.
