Running Back Picks Arkansas Over OSU, Mizzou

Running back Chase Hayden from Collierville, Tennessee had narrowed his field to three schools, including Oklahoma State, before announcing Sunday night that he was committing to Arkansas.

Chase Hayden, a 3-star running back from Collierville, Tenn., announced Sunday night that he is committing to Arkansas. The 5-11, 185-pounder had narrowed his field to Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Missouri after receiving more than 15 offers.

Hayden rushed for 2,625 yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior at St. George’s Independent School while receiving the 2015 Tennessee Mr. Football award.

Hayden is the son of Aaron Hayden, a running back at Tennessee from 1992-94 and a fourth-round pick of the San Diego Chargers in 1995. He played four seasons in the NFL – two with the Chargers,  and one each with the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to Arkansas, OSU and Missouri, the Tennessee standout also received offers from schools like Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, Louisville and others.

The Cowboys have two running back commits in their current recruiting class – Chuba Hubbard from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada (ranked as the top high school prospect in Canada) and  J.D. King from Fitzgerald, Georgia.
