We start a new series today and this one is fun. On Football Media Day last Saturday up in the O-Club in Gallagher-Iba Arena, we had access along with the rest of the media to as many as 40 players. I know that I had requested a number of players that were backups and key contributors but not players that we get access to all the time.
In our game plan on how to get the most accomplished in the least amount of time, Terry and I split up. Austyn Iven went with me and we got with the players that I had down and asked football questions and more serious side of life questions. I could say that Terry got the fun part.
Terry talked to a number of players and asked each of them seven questions ranging from who on the team had the best chance to be President of the United States, who would you trade places with on the team, and whether head coach Mike Gundy's modern mullet should stay for the entire season. There were also some serious questions, such as who do you respect most on the team? There were football questions in who would be the offensive and defensive players of the season.
We have some really good responses from various players, but we start the series with a candidate for both most respected player on the team and Defensive Player of the Year in All-Big 12 preseason safety Jordan Sterns. The 6-0, 200-pound senior from Cibolo (Steele), Texas is a rock solid physical hitter and he can answer questions too.
Here is "Seven Questions with Jordan Sterns" by Terry Tush.
