Bixby's Evers Dealing With Torn MCL

Oklahoma State commit Brendon Evers visits with's Robert Allen as he recovers from a knee injury which kept him on the sideline during a three-way scrimmage Thursday night.

Oklahoma State defensive tackle commitment Brendon Evers of two-time Oklahoma state champions and Class 6A-II favorite Bixby is sitting out and waiting for the medical okay to get back on the field with his Spartan teammates.

We caught up with Evers on Thursday night while he was watching his teammates in a three-way scrimmage at Yukon High School with Yukon and Choctaw. Evers, also a wrestler, had 72 tackles last season and was looking forward to a huge senior season.

Patience is the watch word for Evers, who is also anxious to get to Oklahoma State. He is already thinking about the weight room at Oklahoma State. That part of football training is a passion for him as he owns the clean record at Bixby of over 350 pounds and says he is over 500 pounds on his max on the squat.

Evers is eager but needs to finish the rehab of his knee and let it heal as he has a lot of football ahead of him.
