Critical Cowboy: OSU vs. Pittsburgh

Robert Allen, Austyn Iven and Terry Tush select their "Critical Cowboy" for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Oklahoma State will attempt to bounce back after the controversial loss to Central Michigan last weekend when the Chippewas were allowed to run an untimed down by the officials that led to the winning touchdown. The Cowboys, 1-1, will attempt to get back in the win column against a tough Pitt Panthers squad on Saturday afternoon at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys will face a Pitts squad led by running back James Conner that ran for 341 rushing yards a week ago against Penn State, and will be looking to do the same Saturday. Will Cowboys linebacker Devante Averette come up with the big play like he did against Central Michigan? Can OSU free safety Jordan Sterns provide the senior leadership following last week's heart-wrenching loss?

Offensively, will Mason Rudolph and James Washington (only 10 catches for 103 yards and one touchdown in the first two games) begin to show why many considered them one of the Big 12's best pass-catch duos? Will the Cowboys be able to establish a running game? If so, which running back will get the majority of the carries? Or will Cowboy back Blake Jarwin (1 catch for 15 yards) have a breakout game?

GoPokes.com's Robert Allen, Austin Iven and Terry Tush will select one player who they believe will be the "Critical Cowboy" for each game this season. Who did they pick for Saturday's game? Let's find out.
