Cowboy Spotlight: Chad Whitener

Austyn Iven visits with Cowboys middle linebacker Chad Whitener, who is fourth on the team with 28 tackles entering Saturday's game against Iowa State.

Chad Whitener began his playing career at California after an outstanding high school playing career at Mansfield High School in Texas. After his freshman season he transferred to Oklahoma State, sat out a year and then stepped onto the field last season as a third-year sophomore.

Whitener will be starting his 14th consecutive game Saturday, dating back to when he took over at middle linebacker following the season-ending injury to Ryan Simmons a year ago.

Through the first five games of the season Whitener has 28 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups.

The 6-0, 248-pound junior shares a few things that Cowboy fans may not know about him. Watch the video to see Austyn's interview with Whitener.
