Southwest Mississippi C.C. tight end Ravian Pierce called his visit over the weekend to Oklahoma State good and said that everything about OSU was beautiful.
"It was beautiful – the stadium, the facilities, the campus, the town, all of it was beautiful and the game was great," said Ravian Pierce. "There was nothing to complain about and the coaches were laid back and chilled. I like that."
Pierce is a 6-4, 230-pound tight end who would fit into the Cowboy back mode at Oklahoma State and is being recruited by Cowboy backs coach Jason McEndoo.
"I asked coach why the tight end wasn't more involved in the game (against Texas Tech)," Pierce said. "He told me that the one catch down to the one was just part of it but after the tight end had a big game the week before the defense was taking the tight end out of it."
Pierce said he is making an official visit to Syracuse this coming weekend, and that is the only other official visit he has set up now and that it is really between those two schools. Pierce can sign in December and be at his new school in January.
Pierce has over 15 offers including the likes of Tennessee, South Carolina, and LSU, where he was last weekend to watch the Alabama-LSU game. He plays much of the time, on video, like a big wide receiver lining up outside, slot, wing, and attached to the offensive line.
This past season the Bulldogs only finished 2-7 but Pierce caught a whopping 50 passes for 426 yards (8.5-ypr) and two touchdowns. As a freshman last season he had 27 catches for 207 yards and three touchdowns. The native of powerhouse Plantation (Fla.) High School committed to Mississippi State out of high school.
