OSU-TCU: Critical Cowboy

Robert Allen, Austyn Iven and Terry Tush select their picks for "Critical Cowboy" as No. 11 Oklahoma State travels to TCU on Saturday.

The Oklahoma State-TCU matchup has featured a pair of top 15 teams each of the past two seasons, with the 12th-ranked Cowboys upsetting the fifth-ranked Horned Frogs 49-29 last November in Stillwater and No. 12 TCU winning 42-9 over No. 15 OSU in 2014.

While only Oklahoma State is ranked in the polls entering Saturday's game in Fort Worth there is still plenty on the line. The 11th-ranked Cowboys (8-2 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12) will face the Horned Frogs (5-4/3-3) in a nationally televised game on Fox Sports 1 at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Despite their 5-4 overall record, the Horned Frogs are four-point favorites entering the game.

OSU could win its second Big 12 championship in six years by winning at TCU this weekend and defeating Oklahoma in the regular season finale on Dec. 3.

But the Cowboys must first take care of a dangerous TCU squad that is coming off an impressive 62-22 victory over No. 17 Baylor in Waco on Nov. 5. The Horned Frogs had a bye week last weekend, and took advantage of it to get several key players healthy again for Saturday's game.

The Horned Frogs have four losses on the year but three of them are by a combined 12 points – a 41-38 overtime loss to Arkansas, a 52-46 defeat to Oklahoma, and a 27-24 overtime loss to Texas Tech.
