Patrick Macon could provide immediate help at linebacker after being named the NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Year this past season at Arizona Western.

Briefly: Played for the NJCAA runner-up at Arizona Western C.C. as the team went 11-1 losing only to Garden City in the NJCAA championship game. Was a two-year starter at linebacker.

Junior College: NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Year, 1st-Team NJCAA All-American, Western States Football League Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Ranked as a 4-star prospect by Scout and ranked No. 26 among top 100 junior college prospects. Macon had 122 tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 9 fumbles caused, 2 fumbles recovered, and interception as a sophomore. Team allowed only 8.0 points per game scoring, had 82 tackles, 4 sacks  as a freshman in J.C.

High School: Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State, All-District, and a Liberty Bowl High School All-Star his senior season.

Personal: Born on Nov. 8, 1996 in Memphis, Tenn. He is the son of Tany and Patrick Mason.
