Briefly: A two-way player for one of the most tradition-rich high school football programs in East Texas. In his time at Gilmer, the Buckeyes had a record of 43-3 with a state championship his sophomore year and semi-final finishes his senior and junior seasons.

High School: Named 2nd-Team Associated Press Class 4A All-State, District 4A-7 Offensive Most Valuable Player. He had 67 reception for 1,368 yards, 23 touchdowns, 72 tackles, and two interceptions as a senior. As a junior, had 34 receptions for 589 yards and seven touchdowns with 18 tackles and two interceptions on defense. As a sophomore, he had eight receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown with 22 tackles. Scout has him ranked as a 3-star recruit and the No. 69 cornerback prospect in the nation. He is also on The Dallas Morning News Texas Top 100 list at No. 69.
