High School: Helped his team go 11-1 playing both ways as a senior and was named Associated Press Sports Editors Class 3A 1st-Team All-State at running back, He was also named Most Valuable Player and 1st-Team All-District 6-3A-1. He was named to The Dallas Morning News Area Top 100 list. He also made the Texas High School Coaches Association honorable-mention Academic All-State list. Scout has him as a three-star prospect and the No. 8 safety in Texas and 76th in the nation. He rushed for 2,081 yards with 31 touchdowns and 10.3 yards per carry average. He also had 21 receptions for 300 yards and four more touchdowns. On defense, he had 63 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four interceptions, five fumbles caused, and four fumble recoveries. He also punted for an average of 36.6 yards a kick. He also averaged 38 yards on kickoff returns and 23.3 yards on punt returns, although he didn’t get many as other teams wouldn’t kick the ball to him. As a junior, he was more focused on the defensive side of the ball with 192 tackles, three tackles for loss and six interceptions. He also forced five fumbles and recovered two. In his sophomore season, he had 70 tackles and an interception. He also plays basketball, soccer, and track. He also is involved in the school’s theater program.
