Another one of the attendees from the Cowboys Junior Day on Jan. 28 that spent several hours with the football staff and then saw the Oklahoma State basketball team throttle Arkansas has decided he wants to come back for the next four or five years starting in 2018.
Frisco (Heritage), Texas tight end Nic McTear committed to Oklahoma State around 5 p.m. Monday.
McTear earned 1st-Team All-District 13-5A honors this season as he had 15 receptions for 246 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 16.4 yards a reception for Frisco Heritage High School and his video shows he is a good blocker as well.
He also had an offer from Colorado State and recruiting interest from Texas. There are reports that he had picked up a bevy of offers in recent days including Iowa State, Tulsa, North Texas and others.
McTear was offered by Oklahoma State when he attended the Junior Day. He has also played basketball and has been involved in track and field at Heritage. He is listed at 6-4 1/2, 220 pounds.
McTear's commitment is the third for Oklahoma State in the 2018 class as quarterback Spencer Sanders of Denton (Ryan), Texas, a four-star quarterback, committed in the fall and Rockwall, Texas linebacker Blake Barron pledged after the Junior Day.
