Team Rudolph/Daniels Wins Dodge Ball Tourney

In the final week of off-season training for the football team, the Cowboys had finished up the competition day tournament, so they brought out the dodge balls and on the floor of Boone Pickens Stadium the action was frantic as the team headed by quarterback Mason Rudolph and defensive tackle Darrion Daniels beat the team headed by receiver James Washington and star linebacker Kenneth Edison-McGruder.

Tuesdays in the off-season are reserved for competition and with the actual competition day tournament concluded last week and safety Ramond Richards and offensive guard Marcus Keyes heading up the winning team that allowed for something new on the final Tuesday of the off-season as Coordinator of Speed, Strength, and Conditioing Rob Glass pulled out something different with the little red rubber balls and the field marked off with cones for dodge ball.

The four round tournament resulted in different results as last weeks comeptition team winners finished last losing in the seventh place match to the same team they beat last week in the competition finals as offensive tackle Zach Crabtree and linebacker Justin Phillips were instrumental in leading their team to the win. Crabtree, despite being such a big target is a pretty good dodge ball player.

The winning team was headed by quarterback Mason Rudolph and defensive tackle Darrion Daniels as they defeated the team led by wide receiver James Washington and star linebacker Kenneth Edison-McGruder. In fact, in the championship match Rudolph and Washington stared each other down during the match. In the end it was talented walk-on receiver Landon Wolf of Tulsa East Central that fired the ball and knocked out big offensive guard Larry Williams.

The Cowboys know have two more days of off-season with early workouts on Thursday morning and another go with stadium steps on Friday before spring football practice commences on Monday afternoon, March 6th.
