Recruiting 2017: Amie Still Prospect for OSU

Tyler Lee, Texas quarterback Chance Amie has offers and has interest, including from Oklahoma State. Will that interest end up resulting in a scholarship offer? It could and The Opening Regional was a positive step for the dual threat and multi-talented prospect.

Chance Amie is that kind of prospect that has coaches seeing a world of possibilities. Yes, he is a very solid dual threat quarterback for Tyler (Robert E. Lee), Texas, but he is so athletic and could play running back, wide receiver, and even in the secondary. Amie performed well at The Opening Regional on March 5 in Frisco with a 4.29 time in the shuttle, a 32.6 on the vertical jump, and a 37 foot with the power ball. He did not run the forty, but he threw well, including throwing well on the run.

"I like the offense (at Oklahoma State)," Amie said confirming he has the Cowboys under consideration. There are a number of school still evaluating Amie, while Arkansas State, Colorado State, Bowling Green, Iowa State, Illinois, Syracuse, Central Florida, and Virginia have offered.

Last season he completed 97-of-180 passes for 1,556-yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He ran 183 times for 1,256-yards and 17 touchdowns.

"A winning program, a good offense, good coaches, and, of course, a good education," Amie answered when he was asked what he was looking for in a school.

It will be a wait and see, proposition with Amie for Oklahoma State. The factors will be quarterback Spencer Sanders staying strong with his commitment, which he shows all the signs of doing as he rehabs his ACL injury that Oklahoma State is staying solid throughout with him. The other factors are where else the Cowboys see Amie fitting.
