Fowler Looks the Part at Kentucky Derby

Celebrities of all sorts make it to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby and there was one from the sports world that gave it an Oklahoma State flair, but there was no orange worn by this Cowboy on the first Saturday in May.

Former Oklahoma State golfer Rickie Fowler took the weekend off from the PGA Tour along with several other PGA golfers and a number of athletes, many like New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers always seem to show up on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs. Few patrons or fans looked like Fowler, who came ready for the event in a watermelon covered sportcoat with blue and white horses and jockey riders on his coat pattern. Fowler accented it with a green tie and green slacks. It was one of the more colorful outfits at an event that always seems to bring out colors. The sportcoat retails for $495.00 at Vineyard Vines.

For the fifth year in a row the favorite won the Kentucky Derby as Always Dreaming at a loose favorite 9-2 odds won for the owners Brooklyn Boys Stables and trainer Todd Pletcher and jockey John Velasquez. No word on if Fowler was onboard with Always Dreaming, but it would be an appropriate name for Fowler to back. Golfers are "Always Dreaming" and Fowler is still dreaming of winning that first major.
