The <b>Orange Pride Girls</b> are much more than just pretty faces, they are a thriving part of the Cowboy football program. In the first round of biographies, we get to know a former high school valedictorian, a gospel music singer, a country queen, a future wedding planner and journalism scholar. Organizations I am involved in:  Kappa Alpha Theta, President of the Financial Management Association, Phi Eta Sigma, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Orange Pride

 

If you got a free ticket to go anywhere in the world that you wanted, what would be your destination and why? New York City, Paris or Italy. They are beautiful places with great shopping and some of the best art museums.

 

What three people (living or dead) would you invite to dinner? My grandmother so I could have one last chance to say goodbye, Grace Kelly because of her class, and Kandinsky so we could discuss his art.

 

My most embarrassing moment was:  Occurs quite frequently so I can't pick just one.

 

The event that has defined my life thus far is: Coming to OSU and living on my own.

 

Favorite sports movie and why?  "For the Love of the Game" because it has a happy ending.

 

Favorite "chick flick" and why? "You've Got Mail" because I love the fairy-tale endings in romantic comedies. You never know when you will meet that special someone.

 

Some people would be surprised to know that:  I am not as quiet as they think I am.

 

Three things about Stillwater that I love:  It is friendly, full of OSU spirit, and a great college town.

 

Thing/person that inspires me the most is:  My mom because she is the strongest and most dedicated person I know.

 

My life motto is: Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

 

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be:  The violence that is both unnecessary and unproductive.

 

Craziest college experience:  Too crazy to share

 

My dream job would be (realistic or not): Owning my own jewelry company or owning a professional football team.

 

Favorite male and female celebrities:  Julia Roberts because she is a wonderful actress who also donates a lot of money to charity, and Tom Hanks because of the diversity in his career and he has been married to the same woman for a long time.

 

Favorite OSU celebrity(past or present):  Pistol Pete

 

Best part about being an Orange Pride Girl: Meeting all different types of people

 

If I could be a superhero, I would want to be  the Invisible Man , because I would want to spy on all my family and friends when I am not there.

 

The song that reminds me of my childhood is:  Tiffany's "I Think I'm Alone Now"

Major:  Industrial Engineering

 

Age and Classification:  21, Senior

Organizations I am involved in: Society of Black Engineers Technologists and Architects, Burning Black Gospel Choir, Institute of Industrial Engineering.

 

If you got a free ticket to go anywhere in the world that you wanted, what would be your destination and why?  Jamaica, I just want to go somewhere that pretty and relaxing.

 

My most embarrassing moment was: When I dove in the pool and my swimming suit top came down.

 

The event that has defined my life thus far is:  When I became student of the year of my community.

 

Two items I couldn't live without and why:  My contacts because I am a very observant person and without them makes this a very difficult task. And, my graphing calculator because I am an engineer.

 

Some people would be surprised to know that I used to be in the band.

 

Thing/person that inspires me the most is: Seeing young, black engineers effectively making an impact on the world. There are not many black engineers, so I get encouraged when I see one doing really well.

 

My life motto is:  Do all you can while you can and always put God first in everything you do.

 

If I were to be on a reality show, I would want to be on  American Idol.

 

People that know me best would describe me as: Funny and outgoing.

 

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be:  To make it a more diverse place that is more accepting of others.

 

Craziest college experience: Going out with a bunch of Orange Pride girls and dancing until the club closed.

My dream job would be: Modeling, because I would get pampered all the time and I love dressing up and putting on make-up.

 

My hobbies are: Watching movies, watching home improvement shows, shopping, studying, hanging with my friends and just meeting new friends.

 

The most proud moment of my life was when I: Was the only African-American to ever graduate with honors from my high school.

 

Favorite professional sports team: Dallas Mavericks

 

Favorite restaurant/menu choice: Chinese, Sesame Chicken

 

George W. Bush is the President (and that's all I am going to say about that)

If I were an actress, I would want to play  Denzel Washington's love interest in a film.

Major:  Agricultural Communications

Organizations I am involved in: Agricultural Communicates of Tomorrow, Women in Communications, Intramural sports, Social Sorority, Student Alumni Association

 

Did you play sports? Which ones?  I was a cheerleader all throughout high school.

 

Which class would you NOT take again if Oklahoma State were to cut you a $5,000 check just to take it? I don't think there is a class I wouldn't take $5,000 for.

 

Two items I couldn't live without:  My comfy black sweatpants and my chapstick.

 

Prediction for the upcoming season: Big 12 Championship, of course!

 

What is the best advice someone has given you? Who was it? Try to do your best and I'll be proud of you no matter what. (Mark Linney, my dad)

 

Some people would be surprised to know that I love George Strait and listen to old country music.

 

Three things about Stillwater that I love:  The way the fans are awesome, the support of the town and the way OSU isn't too big.

 

Favorite flavor of ice cream: Ben and Jerry's Phish Food (chocolate, carmel, marshmallows and little chocolate fish.)

 

If I were to be on a reality show, I would want to be on The Bachelorette, I could meet the man of my dreams! Who wouldn't want to be on it?

 

Favorite OSU celebrity(past or present):  Barry Sanders

 

Name of my pets:  I have a dog named Cowboy.

 

The most proud moment of my life will be when I:  Can look back at my children, grandchildren and family and realize that I touched people's lives.

If you got a free ticket to go anywhere in the world that you wanted, what would be your destination and why?  I would want to go to Disney World because I have never been and I am a kid at heart.

 

What three people (living or dead) would you invite to dinner? Why?

George Washington because he was the 1st President of the United States, Bill Cosby because he is so funny and Kelly Clarkson because she is a very talented artist that became successful by making her dream a reality.

 

My most embarrassing moment was: When I was in high school I was singing at a contest and in the middle of my song I had to burp and it accidentally came out right when I was singing. It echoed in the microphone forever.

 

The event that has defined my life thus far is:  Winning the long jump at the state track meet two years.

 

What is the best advice someone has given you? Who was it?  Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. (A friend)

 

I am really good at meeting new people, but I am terrible at making simple decisions.

 

Some people would be surprised to know that I graduated with 24 people in my class.

If you got a free ticket to go anywhere in the world that you wanted, what would be your destination and why?  Italy, because it is a beautiful place full of history and culture.

 

What three people (living or dead) would you invite to dinner? Why? I would invite Princess Diana because she was such an admirable and philanthropic person. I would also invite my grandpa because he passed away and I would like to get to know him better and I would invite my sister-in-law because she is the person I admire the most – she would make it fun!

 

My most embarrassing moment was: My freshman year when I hit a pole with my car and my bumper fell off in front of all my friends.

 

I am really good at schoolwork, but I am terrible at  expressing my feelings.

 

Favorite sports movie and why?  "Field of Dreams," because it is a classic.

 

Favorite "chick flick" and why?  "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days," because it is so true that girls do those things that creep guys out.

 

Some people would be surprised to know that  I have a world championship horse named after me

 

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be:  For all the countries to respect each other.

 

If I could be a superhero, I would want to be  Lara Kroft (Tomb Raider) because she is really tough!

  

Favorite professional sports team/why?: The Oakland Raiders because they have players who are doing what they love and will play as long as they can. It's not just for the money.
