Rec. 2018: Farrell Gets Offer We Expected

Oklahoma State hosted one of the hottest recruits in-state on Saturday and they joined the cast of schools that have offered a scholarship to the tall, athletic two-way lineman from Sulphur, Okla.

Down in the southern half of the state there is a recruiting prospect that is seeing his offer list start to explode. Just as we predicted earlier this week, Jacob Farrell is seeing his recruiting take off and it now includes Oklahoma State. To be honest a number of schools made it through Sulphur this week including reports that Oklahoma State offensive line coach Josh Henson was there and really liked what he saw out of the Bulldogs combo offensive and defensive tackle. We reported that the 6-7, 285 pound Farrell (#52 in video) is good on defense, but when the video turns to offense it becomes clear which side of the ball he projects to at the Division I college level.

Kansas, Texas Tech, Utah State, and Stephen F. Austin have offered Farrell and on Saturday while checking out Oklahoma State with his family on an unofficial visit the Cowboys offered Farrell a scholarship and he tweeted, "Excited to receive an offer from Oklahoma State! He listed Coach Gundy and hash tagged pistols firing.

"The visit went great," Farrell told me over the phone. "We checked out all the facilities and they showed us all over the campus. I liked what I saw."

Farrell has been on campus before as he attended an Oklahoma State camp prior to his sophomore season.

"I'm looking for a school with a good (coaching) staff and with a good program and a good education. I want to major in Religious Studies."

As for the timing, Farrell said he really isn't sure, but as his recruiting is now taking off he said he has a lot to think about.

Everybody is always looking for the recruit that is somewhat hidden and a little bit under the radar, well, Farrell was that guy but the word is out now and he is starting to get all of the attention we feel he deserves. This is one of the better linemen in the 2018 class in the state of Oklahoma.
