J.C. DT Gooden Expected to Visit OSU

Oklahoma State has been very effective with recruiting players on unofficial visits to the campus and Go Pokes has learned that a highly regarded defensive tackle prospect from the juco ranks is expected to visit this weekend.

One of the top junior college defensive tackle prospects in the country is heading to Stillwater on Saturday to visit Oklahoma State's campus and the West End Zone football complex at Boone Pickens Stadium. Independence C.C., Kansas defensive tackle Emmit Gooden is a 6-4, 315 pound prospect that is originally out of Brownsville (Haywood), Tenn. Gooden has scholarship offers from, in addition to Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Louisville, OU, Missouri, Mississippi State, Alabama, Georgia, TCU, Texas-San Antonio, USC, and West Virginia.

Last season he finished with 55 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, two fumbles caused, and a fumble recovery. Gooden is a big powerfully strong inside defensive tackle that also has the height to be a very effective pass rusher.

Oklahoma State is looking for several defensive tackles in the 2018 class as they will lose seniors D.Q. Osborne and Ben Hughes at the position. So far, Oklahoma State has one defensive end committed in the 2018 class is Tyler Lacy, but no defensive tackles.
