Yaniv Barnett sets visit dates

Barnett decides on visit dates, plans trip to Stillwater for early next year...

Yaniv Barnett

Barnett is one of the more organized prospects that I've spoken with. The 6-3, 285-pound defensive tackle out of Schertz Clemens High School in Texas is very bright and very motivated.

"We're doing pretty well right now," said Barnett of his team. "We play MacArthur this Saturday at 2 (p.m.), and right now we're 6-1 and on our way to the playoffs. We've already beaten Converse Judson and San Antonio Madison, two of the top teams in our district."

Barnett has helped out with the chore as he had over 50 total tackles and five sacks on the season. He moves really well for a big man with 5.2 speed and against Madison last week he had seven total tackles, two sacks, two assisted tackles, and a fumble caused. He did tell me that Madison tailback Gary Green is the real deal.
"He is quick, loads of speed, and he can make you miss," said Barnett of Green.

Barnett says he is still hearing from a bunch of schools with phone calls every week. They include Baylor, Texas A&M, Kansas, Wisconsin, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Missouri, and Colorado. There are a lucky four that already have visits scheduled with Barnett. He will visit Missouri on Dec. 5-7, Wisconsin on Dec. 12-14, Kansas on Dec. 19-21 and Oklahoma State on Jan. 3-5.

"I've got one more school to decide on for a visit, and when my visits are over I will go through and make my decision. Location is important, and I want to see what the schools are like."

Barnett can certainly play, and as you just read, he's a pretty good organizer, too, as he has this recruiting process and visit dates just about wrapped up.
