Johnson Has Big Visit, OSU In The Mix

Denton's Herman Johnson is one the largest recruits in the country as the offensive tackle prospect is 6-8 and weighs in at somewhere around 375 pounds. He showed in the U.S. Army All American Game that he can move, and he said after his weekend visit to Oklahoma State that he is considering more than two schools.

"I thought it was a nice campus," said Johnson of Oklahoma State. "I got a chance to really get to know the players and the coaches are cool. My mom was on the trip with me and she liked it too."

Johnson said he will take his remaining visits, LSU next weekend and then Houston on Jan. 19, and then make a decision afterwards. The word on Johnson was that he was really between OU (12/12) and LSU, but he said that isn't the case.

"I wouldn't count out Oklahoma State, but I'm going to take my visits and then make a decision," added Johnson.

A decision could come before his powerlifting season begins with a meet on Jan. 24.
