5 Questions about the Cowboys

1. How far can OSU men's basketball go in March? First of all, The Cowboys and Texas are the two best teams in the Big 12. One of those two schools will win the Big 12 Tournament. OSU has a better starting five, but the Longhorns have more depth. I look for OSU to get a No. 2 seed and reach the Sweet 16 or Elite Eight. If healthy and they can stay out of foul trouble against premiere teams, OSU could be looking at a Final Four Run.

2. How good is John Lucas III? Good. Lucas is the best pure point guard in the Big 12. He can shoot, pass and he is the most mature along with Aaron Miles at Kansas. Lucas is the ultimate leader for this Cowboy team. OSU will go as far as John Lucas takes them.

3. Will the Cowboys lack of size inside make it hard to go far in March? The answer is a definite yes. The Cowboys can run with anyone and have shown that they can beat anyone in the Big 12, but sooner or later they'll get knocked off by a bigger team.

4. How do the Cowboys look next year? OSU will be better next year. Four out of its five starters will be coming back and with the emergence of David Monds and Stevie Graham getting more playing time, there is no telling how good next years team will be. The only spot that there will be a whole in is Tony Allen's, but besides that, everything will be set.

5. Is OSU's football recruiting class enough to give them an immediate impact? Yes. Quarterback Robert Reid, tailback Mike Hamilton and defensive end Nathan Peterson are the kingpins of this recruiting class and can make an immediate impact. The diamonds in the rough of this class could be Prentiss Elliot and defensive back Martel Van Zant. Elliot has enough talent to be a wideout, corner back and a running back.
