CURTIS LOFTIN Kingfisher Inside linebacker 6-2, 225, 4.65 In leading Kingfisher to the Class 3A state championship and a 14-0 record last season, Loftin did what linebackers are supposed to do and he did it better than anyone else in 3A. The junior racked up a whopping 184 tackles en route to the crown, while also playing fullback on the offensive side of the ball.

"Without a doubt, Curtis Loftin is a Division I player," said Kingfisher coach Rick Van Cleave. "In my opinion, he could play for anyone in the country."

His numbers would seem to indicate so. Loftin's average number of stops per game as a junior is unreal — 14.5. All of which has lead to great expectations for his senior campaign.

"I want to win another state championship and lead the state in tackles," said Loftin. "We should be preseason No. 1. I think we can accomplish both those goals."

Loftin also plays power forward for the Kingfisher basketball squad and competes for the track team. Aside from his impressive tackle numbers, his athleticism has college teams interested.

"He's already been offered by Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but hasn't committed," said Van Cleave. "He's going to look around at other schools, but I'd be surprised if he went out of state." "OSU and OU are the only two schools I've really been thinking about," said Loftin. "But the recruiting process has been pretty enjoyable, so I'm leaving all my options open."
