KENNETH POINTER Lawton Eisenhower Defensive tackle 6-4, 275, 5.0

Pointer racked up 70 tackles and four sacks during his junior season from the defensive end spot. However, heading into his senior campaign, a move is in the works. Pointer is going inside as a defensive tackle.

"He's a load," said Lawton Ike defensive ends coach Mike Burris. "So we want to get him down inside where he can disrupt the offense even more. He'll cause a lot of problem from the defensive tackle position."

To give you an idea of what kind of athlete Pointer is, consider that he's making another position move next season. Pointer is going to play some on offense, but not at the expected position of offensive line. No, pointer is going to play H-back, a skill position that involves running and catching the ball.

"He can handle that because he's a great athlete," said Burris. "As a sophomore, he played tailback for us. Then he went to work in the weight room and put on about 60 pounds. But he's still real athletic for a big man. And we're down a little offensively, so we're going to need him on that side of the ball, too."

Burris said Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech are pursuing Pointer, as well as a host of other schools.
