ZACH ALLEN-Top 20 Junior

ZACH ALLEN Edmond Memorial Center 6-2, 275, 5.35

Allen started for Edmond Memorial as a sophomore at defensive tackle, which is a decent explanation for the power numbers he put up on the offensive line as a junior for the Bulldogs. Apparently, his time on the defensive side of the ball allowed Allen to develop a knack for knocking people down.

As the Bulldogs' center last season, Allen recorded a whopping 49 pancake blocks as well as 20 knock downs. Defenders working against Zach Allen were credited with a mere 12 tackles all season. Allen has attended Junior Days at Oklahoma State, SMU and Texas Christian. However, he makes no mystery as to his college preference.

"I really want to go to OSU," said Allen. "I am going to go to their camp in June and see what happens. I'm just hoping for the best." Because of a friendship with coach Dan McCarney, Allen also lists Iowa State high on his wish list.

Allen played strictly on offense as a junior, but he will see time on the defensive line again as a senior in addition to his role as anchor of the offensive line. The Edmond Memorial standout is improving his chances at a college scholarship by adding another skill — deep snapper.
