Jimmy Williams Named To O-State Basketball Staff

STILLWATER -- Besides the announcement of Sean Sutton being the head coach designate at Oklahoma State, it was also announced, as expected, that former OSU assistant and veteran college and NBA coach Jimmy Williams will return to the Oklahoma State basketball staff to replace departed assistant and now Louisiana-Lafayette head coach Glynn Cyprien.

Williams was on Eddie Sutton's staff in the 1999-2000 season when the Cowboys earned a trip to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. He left to coach with the Minnesita Timberwolves of the NBA, and most recently, was an assistant at Louisiana-Lafayette.

Prior to coaching at OSU Williams was at Nebraska for seven seasons, San Diego State, Tulsa, and started his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Minnesota.

Williams is known for being an excellent teacher of post players and also being an outstanding recruiter.
