White Number Eight, Oghobaase Says OSU Leads

Add another Cowboy commitment from DeSoto, Texas, and this makes eight total. We had trouble reaching Kevin White, but the running back out of one of Oklahoma State's favorite high schools says he is firmly committed.

"They offered me when I was there for camp, and I couldn't turn that down," said White. "I had a good time at camp. I like the coaches and the campus. The stadium is really going to be cool when they finish it."

White had a stellar camp as the 6-3, 208 pound tailback performed well in drills and also ran a sub 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. White is a big powerful running back with speed and is also capable of playing several other positions. He was offered by Baylor and Kansas in addition to the offer from the Cowboys. White is part of a strong contingent of prospects this recruiting season at DeSoto that also includes cornerback T.J. Bell, the younger brother of former Cowboy tailback and current Denver Broncos back Tatum Bell.

Kevin White says he is through with camps and will not take any other visits. He reinterated that he is sold on Oklahoma State.

Another prospect that seems sold on the Cowboys is Alief Hastings standout defensive Vince Oghobaase. Regarded as the best defensive lineman in Texas and one of the best in the nation, Oghobaase recently made a swing through Oklahoma visiting both Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. He came home with the Cowboys in the lead.

"I'd say OSU is the leader right now with LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas right behind," said the 6-5,300 pounder. "I really liked what I saw at Oklahoma State. They are a team that is rising fast. I liked Coach Miles and Coach Baiiley. Coach Deforest is my recruiting coach and he is really a good guy. I also know a lot of guys that are there."

Oghobaase is probably a long way from making a decision, as he has a long list of suitors, but the cut list may come later this summer and it appears Oklahoma State will stay in the hunt for a truly big time defensive line prospect in Oghobaase
