Recruiting Update: Ekom Udofia

Not only have two of the top defensive tackle prospects from Texas, Vincent Oghobaase of Alief Hastings and DeMarcus Granger of Dallas Kimball, visited Oklahoma State unofficially over the past couple of weeks, but the Cowboys are also in the thick of the recruiting race for Scottsdale, Ariz., defensive tackle Ekom Udofia. Udofia is a 6-2, 290 pounder that squats a whopping 600 pounds and runs the forty in 4.8 seconds.

Ekom Udofia has a long list of standout schools after him including USC, Miami, Stanford, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Florida State.

"In the Big 12 I'm being recruited by Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Texas," said Udofia who plays at tradition rich Chaparral High School. "I really like Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, they are two of my very favorites right now, and I want to visit both schools."

Udofia attended the Nike Camp at Stanford and has garnered attention for both his on field play and his off the field academics as the honor student has a 4.2 GPA.

"I'm looking for a school with a winning tradition and good academics," added the defensive tackle. "I want to major in business, so that is important to me."

Udofia said he really likes OSU defensive line coach Cary Bailey, and has called him often this summer to discuss his interest in OSU. Udofia said he will wait until after his senior season to commit to any school and wants to take most of, if not all, of his visits.
