Recruiting Update: Gremon Coffman

Oklahoma State is patiently waiting on word from two of their top recruits in Houston Westside running back R.J. Jackson and Kingfisher linebacker Curtis Lofton, but while waiting the Cowboys struck again in a familiar area as Duncanville Panther safety Gremon Coffman gave the Cowboys a verbal pledge over the weekend.

"I have so many guys from around here that are playing there," said Coffman. "There are guys I played with and guys that I've played against. It's a great situation and it isn't very far from here."

Gremon Coffman is a top rated player in Texas by Texas Football, The Insiders, and just about anybody else that covers football in the Lone Star State. He has excellent speed and is a physical player that looks like he could play any of the three safety positions in the OSU defense. He had offers from OU, Kansas State, and Arizona along with being recruited by Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas Tech among others.

Coffman brings to 11 the number of early commitments for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are still very interested in yet another metroplex defensive back in Brandon Tatum of Fort Worth Dunbar, who says Oklahoma State is his leader. Tatum is expected to be in Stillwater on Saturday for a one day prospect camp.
