Former NEO Coach Patterson Joins OSU

Former and very successful NEO A&M J.C. head football coach Dale Patterson has resigned from NEO to join OKlahoma State as the Assistant Director of Football Operations. Patterson, who led NEO to conference titles in the tough Southwestern Junior College Conference and number two national finishes in two of the last three seasons will be assisting current Director of Football Operations Mack Butler will numerous duties that support head coach Les Miles and his staff and the program.

Patterson told me that he was looking forward to joining the Oklahoma State staff and has always admired the way Les Miles and the program conducted itself on and off the field since Miles arrived in 2000. Patterson has produced players like Antonio Smith, Robert Jones, Paul Francis, and Efe Mowarin that have been important contributors for the Cowboys.

"I can't wait to get started," said Patterson. "I think it is going to be fun to go into places like Missouri, Texas, Texas A&M, and UCLA. I get excited thinking about it. I have wanted to be part of a program at the Division I level and I look forward to doing whatever I can to help Coach Miles and the program."

It is expected that Patterson's son, Steve Patterson, will be named interim head coach at NEO and have a chance to continue the success the family has had in leading the Norseman program.
