Oklahoma State received word Thursday that freshmen Walter Thomas and Prentiss Elliott have received approval from the NCAA Clearing House to play this season.
Oklahoma State officials were notified Thursday morning that Thomas was eligible, and then received word later Thursday that Elliott had also been approved.
The 6-foot-5, 340-pound Thomas is expected to contribute at defensive tackle while Elliott has impressed coaches at wide receiver and will be in the rotation.
In related news, the first teams went against the second teams in a 60-play scrimmage during Thursday's practice session with both the first-team offense (vs. the second-team defense) and the first-team defense (going against the second-team offense) performed well.
The Cowboys open the season Sept. 4 at UCLA.
