Bruins to watch
Quarterback Drew Olson (Jr., 6-3, 217): He threw for 2,067 yards a year ago as a sophomore, starting nine of the Bruins' 12 games. Completed 53.2 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He became just the fourth sophomore in UCLA history to throw for more than 2,000 yards in a season, trailing only Tommy Maddox (2,681 in 1991), Cade McNown (2,424 in 1996) and Cory Paus (2,154 in 2000). Threw for a career-high 266 yards and two touchdowns on 21 of 39 passing a year ago against co-national champion USC.

Receiver Craig Bragg (Sr. 6-2, 195): He was the offensive winner of UCLA's Henry R. "Red" Sanders Award as the team's Most Valuable Player a year ago. Finished the season with 73 receptions, becoming the first player in school history to have at least 50 receptions in two different seasons (he caught 55 passes in 2002). He ranked 37th nationally with 5.62 receptions per game. He needs just 23 catches and 659 receiving yards to become the career leader in both categories. Has 18 career touchdowns (15 receiving, two rushing and one punt return), including 10 of at least 40 yards.

Linebacker Spencer Havner (Jr., 6-4, 236): Beginning his third year as a starter for the Bruins. In two seasons, he has made 178 tackles, including 18.5 for losses (he was third on the team with 82 tackles last season). He has six career interceptions, scoring two touchdowns and averaging 30 yards per return. This season he is moving from outside linebacker to the inside spot.

Linebacker Justin London (Jr., 6-1, 235): UCLA's leading returning tackle and ranks fourth among the top returning tacklers in the Pac-10. As a sophomore he ranked second on the team with 98 tackles. He also was second on the team with 8.5 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with three interceptions. Best performance last season was against Arizona when he tied for the team lead with 10 tackles, including one for loss, forced a fumble and picked off his third pass of the year late in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
