Punter Cole Farden, senior
Go Pokes: First of all, how does it feel knowing that you are the preseason All-Big 12 punter?
CF: It feels pretty good, there are a lot of great punters in the Big 12 this year. Coming in as starting punter, it is my goal to be at the top. Hopefully I can finish at the top at the end of the season.?
GP: What do you have to do against UCLA, and then the rest of the season to keep your name as the All-Big 12 punter?
CF: I just have to give our defense a long field or make the opposing offense take the long field. I know the way our defense is going to play. They are not going to get many yards on us.?
GP: What are your thoughts on the competition between Luke Roberts and Jason Ricks for the place-kicker duties?
CF: Both of our kickers, Luke (Roberts) and Jason (Ricks) have done a solid job. I think that Jason has locked up the spot. He had a great camp at two-a-days and I am real confident with him kicking this season. We did lose Luke Philips from last year, but I think Jason will not have a problem filling in his shoes.?
Tight end Billy Bajema, senior
GP: You were on the 2002 Oklahoma State football team that lost to UCLA. As a senior leader on this year's team, how important is it to win this game and then maybe have another year like the Cowboys did in 2003?
BB: It will be great to go win and get a head start on the season. We came up a little short the past two years and we have a lot of confidence going into this game. It is one we can and should go win. It would just be a big start on the season to get a big win at UCLA.?
GP: How important will the tight end be for the Cowboy?s this year?
BB: ?I think we will play an important role, in whatever role we play. As far as blocking, we feel that we need to be dominate against their defensive ends and have a great season and catch balls every time we get a chance. I think we will play a big role and just try be dominating tight ends and give our offense every advantage we can.?
Safety Jon Holland, senior
GP: How does it feel being one of the team captains for the opener at UCLA?
JH: It is a great honor that the team chose me to be a captain. I have shown great leadership and I take pride in everything I do.
GP: Last year, the defense made the stops they needed to make. With the offense breaking in new players at the skilled positions, how much of a bigger role should the defense play to take pressure off of the new player?s for them feel comfortable where they are at for the UCLA game?
?JH: We have experience in the back field with Vernand (Morency) and Shawn (Willis). If those guys can have a good game, it would make things easier for the defense because we have a lot of experience on the defensive side. I feel that the challenge our defense gives our opponent's will give them problems. That will give our offense the chance to put up some numbers.?
