Recruiting Update: Tyrell Graham

You just thought Oklahoma State was finished recruiting linebackers, but it looks like they have their sites set on Houston Yates linebacker Tyrell Graham. The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Graham runs a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and says he has offers from OSU and Houston. Last week against LaMarque, a game that Yates won with a touchdown with four seconds left, Graham had 13 tackles, a forced fumble, and two pass deflections. Yates won it 19-16.

"I'm having a good start to the season, and I have to say that I am proud of myself," said a not too humble Graham. "A lot of coaches have started calling like Kansas State, Coach (Carey) Bailey from Oklahoma State, Coach Bystrom from TCU, Houston, Kansas and Minnesota. I watched that OSU-UCLA game and UCLA has started sending me stuff, but I was rooting for Oklahoma State. They looked good."

Graham and his Yates Lions teammates play Forest Brook this week, but then will get on a plane and fly to Tulsa for a unique doubleheader the next week. They will fly along with Houston Madison to Tulsa on Sept. 17 for a doubleheader at Tulsa Union. Yates will play Muskogee at 5 p.m. and then Madison plays Tulsa Union at 8 p.m.

"I'm excited about the trip, but I'm really excited about this week (Forest Brook) too," said Graham. "I hope we can go into Oklahoma and win and then get out without any injuries because we start district the next week."
