Girtman, DeGrate Return

Defensive tackle Brad Girtman and linebacker Victor DeGrate, both of whom were not allowed to suit up or play against Iowa State because of disciplinary measures, could be back in action against Colorado on Saturday, OSU head coach Les Miles said Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Girtman is not listed on the two-deep depth chart for this week's game. DeGrate (6-3, 250) is listed as the backup to middle linebacker Lawrence Pinson on the depth chart. "Victor has the potential to play significant football in this game, as does Girtman," Miles said during his Monday news conference. "It will depend on how the week goes and how they progress." Miles said the players were not allowed to suit up because they had violated team rules. "Certainly they'll have opportunities to regain their positions (this week in practice), and opportunities to compete," Miles said. Girtman has not played since the season opener against UCLA because of an ankle sprain, but Miles said he was "real close to 100 percent, and was real close to 100 percent last week."
