Recruiting: Brandon Perry

Yet another big time defensive tackle that Oklahoma State is lining up and trying to take a home run swing with is Brandon Perry from Georgia. The mammoth 6-foot-3, 295-pounder out of Hawkinsville is considered one of the best defensive tackle prospects in America.

Last season he had 94 tackles and 12 sacks and is on his way to topping those numbers this season as he already has five sacks for his unbeaten Hawkinsville team.

"We are playing pretty well and are 6-0," said Perry. "it's hard because people are either going away from me, chop blocking me or double-teaming me."

As far as recruiting it is no surprise.

"Georgia is my favorite," said Perry over the phone. "My cousin signed with them last year. They are having a great season and I really like coach Richt."

It makes sense as the Bulldogs are only three hours away from home for Perry. However, he hasn't shut the door and is at least considering others and says he will take his visits.

"Yes, I've heard from both Oklahoma State and Nebraska in the Big 12," Perry said when asked if he had heard from any Big 12 schools. "I'm really up in the air on recruiting right now. I'm having fun with it and for Oklahoma State I will really find out more when I take my visit."

Perry confirmed that he plans on visiting Oklahoma State with one of his five official visits. His desires in a school are pretty simple.

"I'm looking to get a good education and I want to play for a great football program," added Perry.

He has 22 offers including Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, USC, Duke, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and East Carolina.
