Tracking the OSU Commitments

Each week during the football season we will compile the statistics from that week's games for each of the Cowboys' verbal commitments. Here is how the future Cowboys performed the weekend of Oct. 15-16.

T.J. Bell, CB (5-11, 180, 4.38), DeSoto, TX
DeSoto (6-1) had little trouble with Arlington Bowie 36-8 in the District 7-5A game. DeSoto's defense held Bowie to just 171 total yards. Next, at Arlington Martin, Friday, Oct. 22.

Brady Bond, OL (6-6, 260, 5.0), Garber, OK
Garber (5-2) scored 16 points in the first quarter and never looked back en route to an easy 40-6 win over Cherokee. Next: vs. Pioneer, Thursday, Oct. 21.

Jeremy Broadway, WR (6-0, 185, 4.42), Houston (Washington), TX
Broadway had three catches for 77 yards as Washington (5-2) defeated Wheatley 7-0 in a District 22-4A game. Next: at Sterling, Friday, Oct. 22.

Gremon Coffman, DB (6-1, 195, 4.4), Duncanville, TX
Duncanville, ranked No. 10 in the Dallas Morning News' Class 5A area rankings, improved to 6-1 on the season with a 54-48 victory but not before a scare from Arlington Sam Houston (0-7). Next: vs. Arlington, Friday, Oct. 22.

Matt Fodge, K-P (6-0, 180, 4.8), Garland, TX
Garland (5-2) won after seeing North Garland score 24 second-half points to send the game into overtime, where Reinhard Weiss rushed for a 12-yard touchdown in the second extra period to give Garland the 37-31 victory. Next: at Sachse, Thursday, Oct. 21.

Noah Franklin, OL (6-4, 295, 5.1), Vinita, OK
Vinita (4-3) lost to Inola 23-7 in the District 3A-3 matchup. Next: vs. Berryhill, Thursday, Oct. 21.

Chris Hall, OL (6-5, 280, 5.1), Irving, TX
Irving (4-3) kepts its playoff hopes alive with a 21-7 victory over South Grand Prairie on Thursday night. Next: at Euless Trinity, Friday, Oct. 22.

Chris Jones, TE-DE (6-5, 248), Lafayette (Carencro), LA
Jones did not score but witnessed history Friday night when Carencro quarterback Lucas Taylor rushed for 539 yards – the most in Louisiana state high school history – and scored six touchdowns, but the 10th-ranked 5A Bears came up short against third-ranked Barbe 53-42 Friday night. The loss dropped Carencro to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in District 3-5A.

T.J. Minor, DE (6-4, 240, 4.9), Houston (Westside), TX
Westside (6-0) is looking to remain undefeated when it plays Houston Madison (4-2) tonight (Saturday, Oct. 16) in District 21-5A play. Next: vs. Chavez, Saturday, Oct. 23.

Brent Nickerson, DB (6-0, 180, 4.5), Irving (MacArthur), TX
Irving MacArthur (7-0) committed five turnovers and struggled offensively but rallied from a 7-0 deficit to capture a 24-7 victory over Irving Nimitz. Next: at South Grand Prairie, Friday, Oct. 22.

Josh Pinaire, DT (6-5, 290, 4.7), Hutchinson (Kans.) Community College, Derby, KS
Hutchinson (4-3) is scheduled to play Garden City (Kans.) today (Saturday, Oct. 16). Pinaire is seventh on the team in tackles with 39 (20 solo), including 12 for loss in the first seven games of the season. He has been credited with three quarterback sacks and one fumble recovery.

Eric Preast, LB, (6-2, 215, 4.6), Sulphur, OK
Sulphur kept its unbeaten mark (7-0) and No. 1 ranking in Class 2A with a 47-0 shutout of Kingston. The Sulphur defense, led by Preast, held Kingston to 7 total yards (minus-2 rushing) and two first downs. Next: at Davis, Thursday, Oct. 21.

Andre Sexton, DB (6-1, 190, 4.38), Houston (Cypress Falls), TX
Cypress Falls (4-4) lost to Cypress Ridge 44-26 in a District 17-5A matchup. Next: at Tomball, Saturday, Oct. 30.

Kevin White, RB (6-3, 208, 4.45), DeSoto, TX
White rushed for 65 yards on nine carries – all in the first half – as DeSoto (6-1) defeated Arlington Bowie 36-8. DeSoto expanded its lead to 29-0 at halftime as White and other starters spent most of the second half on the sideline. Next: at Arlington Martin, Friday, Oct. 2.

Tevin Williams, WR (6-3, 215, 4.4), Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (Stillwater, OK)
The Norsemen, 4-2, are scheduled to play Blinn (Texas) today (Saturday, Oct. 16) in Brenham, Texas. Next: vs. Kilgore, Texas, Saturday, Oct. 23.

Willie Williams, DT (6-4, 303, 5.0), Hutchinson (Kans.) Community College, Dearing, GA
Hutchinson (4-3) is scheduled to play Garden City (Kans.) today (Saturday, Oct. 16). Williams has 20 tackles (11 solo), including four for loss, through the first seven games of the season. He has one quarterback sack for minus-14 yards.
