Players who have verbally committed to the Cowboys and expecting to sign are:
* Byron Eaton of Dallas (Texas) Lincoln
The 5-foot-11 was ranked the No. 2 point guard in the nation by recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons. "He's definitely one of the top point guards in the country," Gibbons said. "He's strong, physical and can penetrate. He's sort of built like (former Saint Joseph's star) Jameer Nelson. That's who he reminds you of."
* Roderick Flemings of DeSoto (Texas)
Flemings, a 6-foot-6 guard/forward, saw his stock soar when he was the leading scorer this past June at the NBA top 100 camp in Richmond, Va., hosted by Gibbons. He averaged 15.4 points and 10 rebounds a game a year ago as a junior.
* Gerald Green of Houston (Texas) Gulfshores Academy
The 6-foot-8 Green is one of the top 10 players in the nation – regardless of who you ask or what recruiting service you read. He averaged 27 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for a 35-2 Gulfshores team last season. "He's the type of kid who can carry a team," said Rick Nelson, who coached Green's AAU team. "He's very athletic and can take advantage of smaller guards. He's a great shooter. With Oklahoma State losing all their guards next year he'll have a chance to come in and play right away and make his presence felt early."
* Terrel Harris of Garland (Texas) South Garland
A 6-foot-4 shooting guard, Harris averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds for South Garland as a junior. He was one of the top scorers in the Peach Jam Classic in Georgia over the summer. "He's a versatile combo guard who is just scratching the surface with his talent," said recruiting analyst Dave Telep. "He's long and has outstanding athletic ability."
